🎯 The idea

Four players in two teams β€” you and Sam against Robin and Kit. Before anyone plays, everybody says how many tricks they will take. Then you try to take exactly that many.

♠️ Spades are trump

Any spade beats any card of any other suit. If you have a card of the suit that was led you must play one β€” the cards you cannot play go grey. Nobody may lead a spade until one has been played on some other suit.

πŸ”’ Making your bid

Your team's two bids add together. Make it and you score ten a trick. Miss it β€” even by one β€” and you lose ten a trick.
Extra tricks are worth just one point each, and they are called bags. Collect ten bags and your team loses 100, so taking more than you promised is not free.

0️⃣ Nil

Bid Nil and you are promising to take no tricks at all. Keep it and your team gets 100. Break it and you lose 100 β€” so your partner may have to take tricks to cover you.

πŸ™‚ Levels

🌱 Sprout: a short pack (7 up), no nil, no bags, first to 200.
🧭 Scout: the whole deck with nil, first to 300.
πŸ† Ace: nil and bags, first to 500.
A level sets the switches in βš™οΈ Settings.

πŸ€– Auto

Tap πŸ€– Auto at the top and the game plays your hand too β€” your bid, every card, and on into the next hand β€” at the same pace as everyone else. Handy when you need to put the phone down. Tap it again to take over; the game finishes the card it is on and then waits for you.

It plays for keeps. The tricks it takes, the bid it makes and any bags it collects are on your team's score, and a match can be lost while you are not looking. It bids the gold number and plays like an opponent at your level, seeing only what you see. The button stays lit the whole time, so it is never a mystery who is playing.
