Regular Batter

Chocolate Batter

Unsweetened Cocoa Powder | 2/3 cup |
Use 1/3 cup of cocoa powder and an extra 2 tbsp of sugar if you want to make chocolate batter halfway through a regular batch of batter.
Batter Steps
- Whisk dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl
- Stir in wet ingredients until well mixed.
- Optional: Let batter sit for 10-20 minutes or until it starts to bubble. If you warm the milk in the microwave, you can speed this step up.
Pancakes
10" Cast Iron Skillet
- Preheat for about 10 minutes. 1
- Put a thin layer of oil on the cast iron skillet.
- Use 1/2 cup ladle or similar to pour a pancake.
Single batch makes about 8 8" pancakes.
Electric Griddle
- Preheat griddle to 375ºF for about 10 minutes.
- Use 1/4 cup measuring cup to pour. I can fit about 6 of these per set on my griddle.
Single batch makes about 24 4" pancakes.
Cooking Directions
- Watch for bubbling.
- Once bubbling slows down, flip it. 2
Waffles
- Preheat waffle iron on highest setting.
- Use half-cup ladle or similar to pour batter into iron. This will depend on your waffle iron.
- Cook until steam stops or until waffle iron says it’s done.
- Optional: Flip and cook a little bit more for good measure.
- Remove and enjoy.
