Start at the solid dot and get to the ring β the target.
(They are green and red too, but the shape is what tells them apart, so
it still works on a black-and-white printout or if red and green look
the same to you.) In Draw mode, hold your finger on your dot and
drag along the corridors β going back over your own line rubs it out. In
Tap mode, tap in the direction you want to go. The arrow
keys work in both.
β¨οΈ On a keyboard
Square mazes: arrow keys or WASD. A hexagon has six ways out
of every cell, which four arrow keys cannot reach β so hex mazes also take
Q and W for up-left and up-right, A and D for
left and right, and Z and X for down-left and down-right.
The arrows still work; they just pick the nearest of the two.
Circle mazes have no up: β goes outwards towards the rim,
β goes inwards towards the middle, and ββ go round.
Where a ring splits in two, E takes the other way out.
β Circle mazes
You start in the middle and get out at the edge. The rings
split as they get bigger so the cells stay roughly square β which means a
cell near the rim can have two ways further out, not one.
π Treasure
Switch treasure on and you have to collect every gem before the exit
counts. Any treasure at all roughly doubles the walk, so a treasure maze
is a longer trip than a plain one the same size β that is the point.
β‘ Powers
Some treasures are not gems, and the exit does not count them β they are
just yours. They are a different shape from a gem, so you can
always tell which pickups the exit is waiting for. Every one of them is
in the table at the bottom of this page.
Pick which kinds can turn up on the menu. How many turn up depends
on the size of the maze, not on how many kinds you tick β so on a small
maze it is worth choosing just the one or two you like best.
π¦ Torch
With the torch on you only see where you have already been. The maze is
made smaller to match, so a Medium with a torch takes about as long
as a Medium without one β it is harder, not longer.
A hint shows you the way as far as the next junction β one
decision's worth, not the answer. You start with one, and you
earn another for every 20 new squares you explore, up to three in
hand. Walking a hint never earns you the next one, so you cannot chain
them. If you are down a dead end the hint points you back out.
Using any hint means the best you can score is ββ.
π Big mazes
Every size means the same number of cells on a phone, a tablet or a
laptop. Pinch or use β and οΌ to zoom, drag with two fingers to move
around, and tap βΆ to see the whole thing at once.
βΎοΈ Endless
Pick Endless and there is no exit and no edge β the maze carries on
for ever in every direction. Your score is how far from the start you
get. There is no size to choose, because there isn't one, and gems start
again every time you set out.
π² Seeds
Every maze is built from its seed, so the same seed always gives the same
maze. Type a word into the seed box to share one.
