Gloop Run

🫧 Gloop Run

One tap. Split it, join it, and roll it as big as you can.

Length
Pace

Length is how much road there is. Pace is how many seconds you get between one row and the next, all the way down to half a second, which is very fast indeed. Drag it left and the decisions come quicker, which is a shorter course that still asks the same number of questions. The number you are aiming at moves with them, so a short course is never an unfair one.

Finish show

At the end of a course your ball falls through the rings and pours into the basket. Lovely the first time, less so the twentieth β€” you can always tap to skip it either way.

Seed

Leave it empty for a different road every time. Type something in and you get the same road back whenever you type it again. 🎲 empties the box.

πŸ—ΊοΈ The ladder

Each one is a different road every time you play it.

πŸ›’ Shop

Everything here is used up by the next course.

πŸ‘† One thing to do

Tap anywhere. That is the whole game.

Tap once and your ball splits into two, one on each outside lane. Tap again and they join back into one in the middle lane.

There is no steering. Where you are is decided entirely by whether you are one ball or two.

πŸ”’ Rolling into other balls

Roll into a ball with your number and you double.

Roll into a ball with any other number β€” bigger or smaller β€” and you just push it along in front of you.

Nothing with a number on it can hurt you. Ever.

πŸͺ„ The clever bit

Cannot use that 128 because you are only an 8?

The balls you push roll along in front of you, so they reach the spikes first. Every spike a pushed ball hits cuts it in half. 128 β†’ 64 β†’ 32 β†’ 16 β†’ 8 β€” and the moment it says 8, you roll into it and double.

Leave it on the spiky lane and tap yourself out of the way. A wrong number is not a problem. It is something to work on.

Two pushed balls with the same number join into one worth double, just like you do.

🧹 Leaving one behind

You only push what you are behind. Tap off a lane and the balls on it stop dead β€” they fade, slide back past you and are gone.

That is how you get rid of something too small to be worth grinding: don't shove it, walk away from it.

Anything you are still pushing when you cross the finish line falls into the basket with you.

πŸ’₯ What can actually hurt you

Only spikes and holes, and only when you are on them. When you are split that means either half β€” so look at both lanes.

Spikes: πŸ’§ Drip and 🌊 Stream cut you in half and you carry on. πŸŒ€ Torrent ends the run.

Holes are different. There is no road. You fall, and the run is over β€” on every rung, shield or no shield. But a hole is the biggest thing on the road and you can see it coming a long way off.

There is always a way through. Always.

πŸ›« Ramps

A ramp is the only mark that means stand here. Roll onto one and you are thrown over the next few rows.

Sometimes it is the only way β€” a chasm can close all three lanes, and then the ramp is the road.

Sometimes it is a choice. There is something floating up there that you cannot reach any other way. Taking it costs you: the balls you were pushing stay on the ground and take their chances.

Split? You need two ramps, one under each half. One ramp in the middle is the road saying be one ball here. Two on the outside says be two.

You can still tap while you are in the air β€” it is remembered, and it happens the moment you land.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Three ways to play

Ladder β€” numbered levels with names, each one a bit busier than the last. Get one ⭐ and the next one opens. A level is a fresh road every single time: it is the same level because it asks the same things of you, not because it is the same road. So you cannot learn it off by heart β€” you have to actually read it, which is the game.

Free run β€” you set the length and the pace yourself, and you can type a seed to get one particular road back.

Endless β€” the same levels, one after another, with no finish line. Every 26 rows you move up one. How far up the ladder you got is your score, and it means the same thing it means in Ladder.

Get to the end of a course and your ball falls through the rings, splitting again and again, until the basket is full of little 2s. How many land in the basket is your score. Reach the number a course aims at for ⭐⭐, double it for ⭐⭐⭐, and stars pay πŸ’Ž gems for the shop.

πŸͺœ The road grows up with you

πŸ’§ Drip has three things to dodge. 🌊 Stream adds two more. πŸŒ€ Torrent has all seven.

You never have to learn something new and something fast at the same time β€” and the rung is written next to each one in the list below.

On the Ladder, the thing that mostly changes as you climb is how often the road asks you to do something β€” low down you get a long look at each row, high up they come at you. It stops getting busier around level 14, and after that the levels just get longer: same road, more of it.

The road is also built out of stretches: open road, narrow bits that force you to be one ball or two, a gauntlet that makes you swap quickly, a chasm, a bonus jump. It bends and it rises, which changes nothing about what to do β€” it just looks like somewhere.

πŸ”Ž What everything means

Everything the road can draw:
