Guests arrive at the door. Tap an empty table to seat the first
party in the line that fits it. Tap again to take their order, again when
the food is ready, and (on Hard) once more to clear the table.
πͺ Where you put them matters
A couple in a six-seater locks four seats for the whole meal β and the
party of six at the door has nowhere to go. Small parties on small tables,
and keep the big ones free when you can see a big group coming.
π³ What you start matters
Dishes take different times to cook: quick, medium, and
slow. With only a few burners lit, a slow dish started late finishes
last and holds its table longest. Get the slow ones on early.
πͺ Who you serve matters
The greener a guest's bar, the bigger the tip β the coin number above each
table counts down while they wait. Save the red ones first, then take the
biggest tip that's left.
π³ Shift and βΎοΈ Endless
A Shift is one service with a target: serve enough guests and you
move up a level. Endless never stops β guests keep coming faster and
the room keeps opening tables, and the only question is how long you can
hold it. Everything about the room is yours to change in βοΈ Settings; turn
on π Relaxed and there is nothing to lose and no target at all.
Once you have two waiters, a row of them appears under the room and you
can say who does what. In βοΈ Settings: Automatic β the nearest free waiter takes every job. You never
choose. Assign β tap a waiter, then tap a table, and that waiter takes it.
Your pick then clears, so it is one job at a time. Stay with one β the same, except your pick sticks: everything
goes to them until you tap someone else.
With only one waiter on shift there is nothing to choose, so the row does
not appear.
β€οΈ Hearts
A party that runs out of patience walks out, and that costs a heart β
whether they were at the door or at a table. Run out of hearts and the
shift is over.
πͺ New tables
In Endless β and any room you set to grow β the diner starts small
and opens Tables that are not open yet are
roped off and greyed out, and a bar underneath fills up as they get closer.
The one opening next also shows the time left.
π What everything means
A table is telling you one of these:
The bars and badges:
The dishes β slow ones hold a table longest, so get
them on early:
Tables come in four sizes:
Around the room:
π Your shift report
At the end you'll see what you served and what a good shift here looks
like. It isn't a maximum β beat it and that's a perfect shift!
πͺ΄ My Diner
Every shift pays coins, and coins buy things for your diner β a palm, a
jukebox, a cat. They turn up in the room while you work. Tips fade while
guests wait, so serving quickly is what pays for them.
Easy: guests seat themselves, nothing to lose. Normal: you seat them, booths appear, the kitchen gets busy. Hard: stools and a big round table, you clear up, and a second
waiter to direct.
