Birds break from the grass. Tap one to photograph it before it
clears the treeline at the top. Ten birds a round, and you have to get a
certain number to go on to the next round.
ποΈ Your film
Each time birds are let up you get a few frames of film β the
little marks at the top. A frame is spent whether you hit or miss,
and film does not carry over to the next lot. That is the whole
resource in the game: three frames and two birds means you can afford one
mistake.
π¦ Lead the bird
They do not fly straight β they turn. Tap where the bird is going,
not where it is. On π± Sprout the dog puts a marker there for you,
which is the best way to learn what "leading" means.
ποΈ Two kinds
A finch is steady and worth 100. A swift is much faster and
worth 220. The harder shot is worth going for.
πΎ Two meadows
Meadow β birds break from the grass and climb. Skimmers β stones skip flat across a pond. Faster, lower, and a
completely different rhythm to aim in. Best scores are kept separately.
π About the dog
At the end of every round the retriever holds up the photographs you
got. It does not laugh at you. Ever.
π Levels
π± Sprout: slow birds, five frames, a long look at them, and the
dog points. π§ Scout: quicker, three frames, no pointing. π Ace: fast, and most releases are a pair.
A level sets the switches in βοΈ Settings; change any and you are
playing your own mix.
