Baseball

Three innings against the computer, or a Home Run Derby.

⚾ Baseball

Three innings. Your team (❀️) bats first; the computer pitches and its team fields. Watch the ball come in and tap anywhere (or 🏏 Swing) as it reaches the plate: swing a little early and it goes to left field, a little late and it goes to right. A ball inside the faint box is a strike whether you swing or not; outside it, let it go. Three strikes and you are out; four balls and you walk to first. Hit it where nobody can catch it and run the bases; over the fence is a home run. Three outs and the computer bats: now you pitch. Tap where you want the ball to go, then tap again as the ring closes on your mark: the closer you are, the closer the ball goes. 🐒 Slow fools a batter waiting for a fast one. When the ball is hit on the ground, your fielder runs for it; tap a base to throw it there. A runner who has to run (the one on first when the ball is hit, say) is out if your throw gets there first. Most runs after three innings wins; level, you play on.

πŸ’₯ Home Run Derby

The computer's slugger bats first; then you try to hit more home runs before ten outs (a round ends at forty swings too). Every pitch is a strike, and you can let one go by. Tap right on the ball as it reaches the plate. Tap a little low on it and the ball flies up; a little high and it goes along the ground. Swing a little early and it goes toward left field, a little late toward right: the fence is closest down the lines. A miss, a foul or a ball that stays in the park is an out.
